Music With a View Application

CHECK BACK IN MID-MAY FOR UPDATED GUIDELINES AND APPLICATION FOR 2010-2011 SEASON.

We invite artists working in the field of music to have their work seen and heard in the fourth season of Music With A View @ The Flea. The series provides a professional and informal setting by other ground breaking composers, fellow musicians and enthusiastic fans.

The dates for Music With A View @ The Flea 2009-10 are:

Sunday, October 4 at 3pm
Sunday, November 8 at 3pm
Sunday, December 13 at 3pm
Sunday, February 7 at 3pm
Sunday, March 28 at 3pm
Sunday, May 2 at 3pm

Please note one concert (to be determined) will be designated as our Family Friendly event. For that, we will be programming works fast paced, accessible and appropriate for children and their parents.

Music With A View is a free series and as such there is no remuneration for artists, but a wonderful opportunity for composers to showcase their work.

The series takes place at The Flea, a beautiful, clean and temperature-regulated performance space located in TriBeCa. The Flea has an excellent Yamaha 7’ grand piano that is also a DCV Disklavier with midi receive and midi out function, a house sound system with a digital mixing board, a digital light board, a video projector and 6 ft. screen, microphones, DI boxes, cables, music stands and other basic technical items. Each piece will be given ample tech and rehearsal time with The Flea’s technical director and staff.

Only one proposal per composer will be accepted.

Completed application forms must be submitted no later than July 18, 2009 at 11pm.
